My parents have a huge cherry tree in their backyard, and every June it just seems to burst with brightly colored cherries from top to bottom. My dad is so diligent every year to keep watch so the frost doesn't rob us of this summer treat. This year in particular, there seems to just be millions of berries, so many that we don't even mind if the robins or the starlings have a few, we'll never be able to pick them all!
My kids just love to go out and pick and eat them til juice just runs down their chins. Livi decided that she wanted cherry juice, so off she went to pick and juice each cherry. She sat so patiently squeezing each and every one until she managed to get about 3 tablespoons of juice and sipped it with delight.
Liv even managed to talk Gage into being her berry picker, so she could concentrate on juicing. I don't know if you've met Gage or not, but his attention span for any one thing is pretty short-lived. He'd much rather just pick and eat them himself!
We love summer!

Oh I want some of those cherries so bad! I bought some at a road stand the other day but they were definately not the same! Oh have you done googlereader yet?
