Spring Break 2014 - Tamarack Here We Come

This year the thought of 10 days of uninterrupted days of nothingness spreading out ahead of us seemed pretty daunting. And you know Idaho weather in March - it wasn't going to be sunshine and park days.  We gathered a couple of our favorite families together and rented a house at Tamarack.  Since dads need to work for a living, us rock star mom's decided that we could drive up a day early with all the crazies.

ROAD TRIP!!

And yes, that's Sophi with my diet coke. She may have a little bit of a habit.

Tami rode with me, and Amber followed behind with a van load of stinky boys. We had a fairly uneventful drive, and even managed to have about everybody sleep most of the way.

Poor Amber didn't have as much good luck. She had to make several emergency potty stops and she had a puker! Sorry about that Amber!

As soon as we got to the house, it started to snow. And man, it snowed and snowed and snowed, but that didn't stop anyone from jumping into the hot tub.  I mean look at the smiles on these faces - is there anything better than all your best friends in warm water?

Sophi kept an eye on the hotubbers from the upper deck.

The girls brought melty beads and made enough coasters for everyone to have at least six,

and the boys played Wii and watched Star Wars and only came up out of the basement for the occasional snack.

It was dinnertime that us mom's really felt outnumbered.  Did I mentioned we are rock star moms?
That's 11 hungry mouths to feed if you happen to be keeping track!

We put all the waterlogged kids to bed and us girls stayed up way too late watching a chick flick and chatting the night away, deciding that having sister wives has its benefits! The next morning was when having several moms and older girls came in really handy.  All us moms managed to sleep in thinking that one of the other mom's was down making breakfast, when we all did finally come together we realized that none of us had gotten up with the kids and they managed to take care of themselves.  We're thinking about all moving in together permanently.

The next morning we loaded all the kids up and took them down to the lodge to the big hot pool. Man did we get some looks from management with all these kids!

By the afternoon on the second day, we were ready for the reinforcements to show up. Dads are always more fun. Let the epic snowball fights begin.

And then came the smores fest -

There's nothing better than sitting around in your jammies, roasting marshmallows in a warm house and not cold outside around a smoky campfire.

The next morning we headed into McCall to the famous Pancake House and ate cinnamon rolls the size of our heads.

What a great weekend.  Thanks for all the laughs and the memories Crowleys and Stutzs. I think we've just come up with our new Spring Break tradition...and possibly summer and fall!
