Look Who's 1!

So it seems like all we do around here lately is birthdays, but this one was especially important.  Van man turned 1!  I'm not going to go on and on about how much time flies, and that it just seems like yesterday that I was bringing him home from the hospital, or that he was just learning to roll over and eat mush, but it's true, all those things seem like just days ago.

He still is such a dream baby and knows his place as number 3 in line, and for the most part patiently waits his turn.  Other than getting some pretty knarley molars in the last couple of weeks, he hardly ever gets very upset.  Although, once in while his temper will flare and he gets that look in his eye that he's going to bite you, and he will... hard.  And you will cry.  And then you will know why we have nicknamed him Vampire Van - Vampy for short.
He still loves to do jumpa on anyone who has the arms and the stamina, is the most ticklish under his chin, and still loves to take a bath more than anything else.  He's getting braver and braver when it comes to walking, although it's not his main mode of transportation yet. He knows the words uh-oh, mama, dada and kitty, and ocassionaly he says something resembling baba when it's naptime.  You'll find him quietly playing in Gage's room with all his tractors, looking at books, and playing with all the toys and balls, and loves to catch you when you forget to close the bathroom door, and take a quick splash in the toilet - but what 12 month old doesn't?  He's a sucker for his blankie and his dad, and loves to bite poor Pooh Bear's nose, and loves the hose and bubbles.
Here's his 1 year old stats:
29.5 inches
22.3 oz
All in all he's still not very big, but what he lacks in stature he makes up in pure determination.  Watch out Liv and Gage, we've got a bruiser on our hands!
Happy Birthday Baby!!
Here's his party with all the cupcake eaters...

All his new toys move or blink, or play music of some sort, but truly the favorite thing he got for his birthday is a fabulous bubble blower that Aunt Megan sent.

We have seriously been blowing and chasing bubbles nearly everyday since. There is something truly magical about bubbles.

Happy Birthday Little Man!
