Tamarack

A couple of weekends ago, our good friends Amber and Mike invited us to join them and a couple of other families for a weekend at the Tamarack Resort.  Amber had done all the research and found us this great rental on Craig's List. The house was perfect with 4 master bedrooms, a huge kitchen and flat screen, a game room for the kids to play and sleep in, a hot tub, and outdoor fireplace on the huge deck.  The place was great, and we had full access to all the amenities up at the lodge. We all came ready to play.

The Arnesen's were great enough to bring up a quad for all the kids to take turns on.

We fished down at the lake. 

(It takes a real fisherman to use a barbie pink fishing pole!)

This is Davis staying out of the water, not.

I use the term fish lightly, we put marshmellows on the hooks and threw them out for the kids to reel in.  And in some cases there weren't even any hooks on the line, but to a 3 year old, those are just minor details, and they were out to catch whoppers!

We hiked along the lake and promised to come back and take family pictures in the tall grass, but there was too much other fun stuff going on.

Like swimming in the hot tub until your hands get all wrinkled...

watch football,

you know the kind you watch with your eyes closed...

play with all the friends...

and then go swim some more...

And then of course eat and roast marshmellows until you're sticky from head to toe...

There are some things that I learned about my friends after late nights of games and gossip. 

Here's a few:

Mike Davison has a serious addiction to diet Pepsi and cannot fit 5 jumbo marshmellows in his mouth at one time...

Tamara is for sure having a boy, because she is sick and was a trouper and didn't complain once, and because the Chinese birth chart says so.

RaeAnn does a mean Justine Timberlake impression and is embarrassed for me and my lack of knowledge in the pop culture world. Although, she ocassionaly wears her pants backwards.

Paul may or may not have a secret crush on Mike Davisson, or he just prefers to sit really close to men in small hot tubs.

Mike Crowley knows a couple of things for sure... the answer is Australia and 1912, and he can balance his chair on 2 legs for like 22 seconds.

Amber spent the whole weekend trying to get us thrown out of the resort, by riding the quad all over the compound when it clearly stated no recreational vehicles allowed.  Oh, and she took the towels out of the locker room, when the sign clearly stated

DO NOT REMOVE TOWELS FROM LOCKER ROOM!

Dax prefers to answer trivia questions at Cranium so that he doesn't have to do anything, even though he was wrong like 4 times.  Although he will act out mermaid if you ask him.

Breya is awesome at charades as long as she doesn't have to act out lava lamp or bungee jumping, and she's good at treasure hunting on the beach.
